    THE VOTES ARE IN!

And the winner is up above, brand new and spanking old! Spanking 'old' because this logo is actually an adaptation of the first ever Scritti logo rubber-stamped all over the old 77-79 vinyls. (A white version is also available for designs with dark backgrounds. See official SCC site for more info.)

There was also a faction in favor of the butterfly logo, adapted from Cupid & Psyche '85 back cover; but obviously, its supporters didn't bother to take advantage of the chance to vote more than once! So, there you go, and here we are! Thanks goes out to those of you who bothered to vote!

"WHAT IS THIS SCRITTI CRUSH CONNECTION ANYWAY?"

Well, with the recent buzz online among Scritti fans, Andrew Doss of The Gift of Schizo fame came up with the idea of reviving SCC; this time the second 'C' stands for Connection, a much more meaningful relationship than the one-way 'Crew'.

The new SCC is a network of on- and off-line unofficial Scritti resources, including online fan Web sites, an e-mailing list, and an offline magazine. It is, of course, an unofficial fan club -- Mr. Gartside being as fan-shy as ever and no where to be found -- but hopefully it will last longer than the previous SCC.

The goal of SCC is to

    • help spread the word about how 'simply marvelous' Scritti is
    • share the joy and enthusiasm with other Scritti fans
And as such, it is NOT a place for unsavory exploitations of the band's labor of love. So, please, support the band with purchases of its commercially available releases.

As Andrew's the one who started the idea, he is sort of the host/president of SCC and the official SCC page is at his web site.

Currently there is no membership provision for Scritti fans without a resource to offer. I will, however, broach the subject with other active SCC members and try to come up with ways of including those of you who like to be passively a part of SCC. For now, I will keep a list of all who are interested. Just fill out my survey or e-mail me your contact information.

    [top]...membership

Right now membership is open to anyone with a Scritti resource to offer. Anyone interested in becoming a member should:

    • appropriate the logo for his/her Web site, magazine, and whatnot. The logo in black or white version is available at the official SCC web site.
    • contact Andrew Doss and let him know about the resource and contact information
Other members will then help publicize the new resource. That's all there is to it.

Fans without resources to offer: See explanation in the previous section (above) and fill out my survey or e-mail me your contact information.
