The "Sweetest Girl " sounds pretty much the same as the version on the album. For a slightly different and a very lovely version of the song you would need to get hold of Rough Trade/NME C81 cassette which was released before these Scritti singles. The versions of Lions After Slumber here are like -- pardon the free association :-) -- jungle lions moving swiftly through a the lush wild forest noting its surrounding; where as the version on the album is more like a lion king comfortably settled and guarding and counting it's vast territories. Confidence on the French release is from Scritti phase I, 12"EP 4 A-sides

Faithless Part II is basically A-side instrumental with a trumpet replacing Green as the lead. The 7" hilariously breaks the 12" version into two parts, one on each side with no attempt to make each work alone.

These versions are a bit like works in progress -- a bit confused and lacking the elegant and rhythmic elocution of the version on the LP; but the end of the 12" version is rather hilarious with what sound like either record scratching (like in rap sampling) or metal sheets flining. The poster that came with some of the 12" is a print by Tom, the drummer, with the same cricket insignia as on embossed copies of the LP.
